Connections NYT is the latest New York Times word game that’s captured the public’s attention. The game revolves around identifying the "common threads between words." Just like Wordle, Connections resets at midnight, with each new puzzle becoming progressively more challenging. If you’re stuck, we’ve got hints and tips to help you through today’s puzzle.
If you prefer to skip to the solution, you can find August 29's Connections answers at the end of this article. However, if you’d like to solve it on your own, keep reading for clues, tips, and strategies.
The NYT's newest daily word game has quickly become a social media sensation. Created with the help of associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, Connections is featured in the Times' Games section. Available on web browsers and mobile devices, the game requires players to group four words that share a common theme.
Each puzzle presents 16 words, which must be grouped into four distinct categories. These categories can range from book titles to country names and beyond. While several words might seem to fit together, only one grouping is correct. Successfully identifying all four words in a set removes them from the board. Players have up to four mistakes before the game ends.
Players can rearrange and shuffle the board to make finding connections easier. Additionally, groups are color-coded: yellow for the easiest, followed by green, blue, and purple. Like Wordle, you can share your results with friends on social media.
