Connections, developed with the help of NYT associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, is a daily word game that has quickly become a favorite on social media. Available on web browsers and mobile devices, Connections challenges players to group four words that share a common theme.
Each puzzle features 16 words divided into four distinct categories. These categories can include anything from book titles to software names to country names. While multiple words may seem like they fit together, only one correct grouping exists. Players are allowed up to four mistakes before the game ends. Correctly identifying all four words in a group will remove them from the board.
Players can also shuffle the board to help spot connections more easily. Categories are color-coded from yellow (easiest) to purple (hardest). Like Wordle, you can share your results on social media to challenge friends.
