Connections is a daily word game from the NYT that has quickly gained popularity on social media. Developed with the help of associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, the game requires players to group four words that share a common characteristic.
Each puzzle consists of 16 words that need to be divided into four distinct categories. These categories could range from book titles to country names. The challenge lies in identifying the correct groups, as multiple words may seem to fit together. Players have up to four mistakes before the game ends. Correct groupings will remove those words from the board, while incorrect guesses will count as mistakes.
The game board is color-coded to assist players:
Players can also rearrange and shuffle the board to help spot connections. As with other daily games, results can be shared on social media.
